Contact Lenses

Contact lens products

Contact lenses are an important option for vision correction for many of our patients. Dr. Saeed prescribes daily disposable contact lenses, monthly replacement lenses, toric lenses to correct astigmatism (both daily and monthly replacement), multifocal contact lenses for patients who need more help seeing up close and gas permeable lenses (single vision and multifocal).

Many of our patients are wearing daily disposable contact lenses. Daily disposables are the ideal choice for many contact lens patients. The lack of care needed with these lenses appeals to many patients and provides a safe, comfortable and convenient way to wear contact lenses. Daily disposable contact lenses are ideal for part-time wearers but many of our daily disposable contact lens wearers are full-time, every day wearers.

Dailies Total 1 from Alcon feature a revolutionary new material with water gradient technology.  The result is a highly breathable contact lens with a smooth silky feeling (due to increased lubricity) and exceptional comfort at the end of the day.  The Dailies Total 1 surface approaches 100% water, minimizing the interaction of your eyelids with the contact lenses during each of your 14,000 blinks a day.  Dailies Total 1 contact lenses offer exceptional comfort, vision and health for everyone but especially those who may have experienced problems with their contact lenses in the past due to dryness.

Alcon (Ciba) contact lensesDailies Aqua Comfort Plus contact lenses are now available for most patients, including those who need correction for astigmatism or reading in addition to their distance vision.  Alcon's Dailies Aqua Comfort Plus Toric contact lenses are designed for patients with astigmatism who also want the comfort and convenience of a new clean lens every time they wear their contact lenses. Dailies Aqua Comfort Plus Multifocal contact lenses feature the same design as the Air Optix Multifocal monthly replacement contact lenses.

Our monthly replacement lenses of choice are all silicone hydrogel lenses. Silicone hydrogel lenses allow 3 to 5 times as much oxygen through to the eye as traditional hydrogel lenses. They are more deposit resistant and appropriate (and approved) for monthly replacement. Additionally, they are often more comfortable for patients with marginal dry eyes.

Air Optix Colors is the newest member of the Air Optix brand of contact lenses from Alcon.  These monthly replacement contact lenses combine comfort, breatheability and the beauty of 3-in-1 color technology for beautiful eye color.  The Air Optix Colors contact lenses are available in 9 colors, 5 for subtle change (gray, blue, green, pure hazel and brown) and 4 vibrant colors (sterling gray, brilliant blue, gemstone green and honey) for more dramatic change.  Visit the Air Optix Colors Color Studio at www.airoptix.com to try the colors for yourself.

Air Optix Multifocal contact lenses are recommended for our patients needing visual correction for near as well as distance vision. These lenses come in three distinct near powers. Most multifocal patients are able to attain good vision at distance, near and in-between with these contact lenses. Like the other members of the Air Optix family of lenses, this lens is approved for monthly replacement.

While our preferred contact lenses are Alcon Dailies and Air Optix products, Dr. Saeed also prescribes Bausch + Lomb PureVision contact lenses and Acuvue Oasys contact lenses as well as others when appropriate.

Dr. Saeed does fit patients with gas permeable contact lenses when appropriate. Gas permeable lenses may be designed as single vision lenses or multifocal contact lenses. Gas permeable lenses may give better vision correction for patients with significant astigmatism, especially for multifocal wearers.
